ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the General Practitioner (GP) will provide client centred, best-practice, clinical health assessment and treatment for families referred to Ngala Residential Parenting Services (NRPS).

The successful candidate will play a key role in the medical admission of all family members referred to NRPS and will work in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all families.

The GP is integral to helping reinforce a family focussed culture that promotes safety, quality and innovation in everything we do, in line with Ngala’s Strategic Plan.

This is a Permanent Part-time position (7 hours per week).

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

 

As the successful candidate, you will hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) together with the following:

  • Demonstrated skill and experience in perinatal, early childhood and family medicine, with a commitment to empower parents to bring about improved health and functioning of family members.
  • An understanding of complexities and vulnerabilities of some Aboriginal/CALD families in the context of trauma and social disadvantage
  • Experience and ability to work collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary team and with partner organisations.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in quality improvement processes.
  • Demonstrates passion about early intervention family centred practice.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • MBBS FRACGP GP licensing and credentialing.
  • Current Medical Indemnity Insurance.
  • Current Medicare provider number for use at Ngala.
  • Able to work across other Ngala sites as required.
  • Current WA driver’s licence.
  • Current Working With Children Check

 If you are successful in this position you will need to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months).
