ABOUT THE ROLE
The Engagement Officer (50D) will focus on our Carnarvon Education and Engagement Program (CEEP). This role aims to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, community members, and families to improve educational outcomes for First Nations People by ensuring children have access to engage in education and learning opportunities.
DUTIES
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and facilitate activities that promote the engagement of young people in education and learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to offer activities that support the development of children young people and families.
- Work alongside and empower children and families to be engaged in education and activities that enhance their skills, knowledge and confidence.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will be highly organised and have strong communication skills together with the following:
- Experience working within a similar role.
- Effective communication skills with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Ability to provide mentoring and support to families and co-workers.
- Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within the community.
- Computer literacy.
The successful candidate will need to hold a current WA driver's licence, Working with Children Check, and satisfactory National Police Clearance obtained within the last six months.
It is essential that you meet the above criteria and are permitted to work and remain in Australia with no limitations to be considered.
